Surely this is a bad move from Apple...

Why are Apple making you buy an adapter for the new iPod shuffle to use 3rd party headphones?!
It's RIDICULOUS and in my opinion should be a very bad move. I personally use the official iPod headphones which came with my Nano 4G (Come to think of it, I could review the Nano...) but I know plenty other people who either don't like the standard headphones or break them and don't want to pay (*checks iPod headphone price on apple.com*) £19 for a pair of headphones.

Also, after checking the Apple website, would the new introduction of a Microphone (In my opinion pointless, I'm not going to talk to myself on the bus) change the headphone jack? Surely it's still 3.5mm though.

Anyway, if by chance anyone is reading this who knows more on this then let me know :)

Technorati Backlinks

So yeah, this is a thing I read about increasing Technorati Backlinks, seems pretty straightforward and the logic behind it should work I suppose.

  • Blackberry 9630 Niagara shown on video

A user over at the CrackBerry forums has got their hands on a shiny new BlackBerry Niagara (I'm guessing from RIM) as seen the other day from the photos. Well, now salisa.m from the forums has made a video giving a quick look at the handset. Although the phone is rumored to be running the v4.7 OS (The v4.6 OS being the current build out to the public) he can't get it to stay powered on which is a shame.

I'm going to take a 'wild' guess and say we will be seeing a lot more of the 9630 at CTIA next month.

T-Mobile UK bins the Sidekick Slide...

Right Click > View Image to view this image full size.

Check out the URL, the "What's Hot" page for the SK Slide is still listed but gives the 404 Error.
http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-phones/phones/pay-monthly/t-mobile/1/ This link directs you to the list of T-Mobile Manufactured handsets for Pay Monthly which does not display the SK Slide anymore.

Now the big question, is T-Mobile UK dropping the Sidekick brand or making way for a new Sidekick (Aka. the Sidekick 09 which has been floating about blogs for a few months now)

If anyone does read this, comment!
I'd like to see what people make of this.

    FYI: Template

Is temporary until I install Photoshop and Dreamweaver on my XP virtual machine later.

    :D

A problem I've been having for a while

Now, although pretty much NOBODY will read this, I feel like talking about it anyway just in case some awesome person reads my blog.

So, I got a free MacBook Pro 1st gen from my friend about, 8 months ago. It was free because it was almost broken and we had a bet that I would love OS X in a month if I used it as my main PC (I was still a huuuuuuuuge Windows fanboy at the time) and he won. Then, it still had a month or two in it until the battery got melted from the inside (There's a plastic bit the battery which melted, I don't want people thinking that the MBP got that hot as to melt Aluminium XD) and all the battery goo got all over the parts.

So, this is going back a while. Since then I've tried OSx86 but then I had to get a new network card for my desktop which I couldn't get to work. Also tried it on my Dell laptop and the graphics adapter wouldn't work after boot (Lame). So I was mulling around eBay looking for some cheap, minimum spec Macs as I had a bit of money in the bank (For once) and I found that eMacs were going VERY cheap. Very cheap indeed as it cost me £45 inc. delivery for a 2003 eMac w/ 634MB (I think) RAM, 38GB Hard Drive, 800MHz PPC G4 processor and a CD ONLY DRIVE.

The drive is where the problem is, as it doesn't burn I couldn't get the Tiger CD images to work (It was legal for me to download a backup of the Tiger CDs as I have the MacBook Pro still, woo!) even if I tried methods people said worked on Mac when burning disks in Windows, nothing worked.

So I tried that forum InsanelyMac, and this real helpful guy contacted me saying he would send me a retail DVD of Tiger, and I had a spare Sony disk drive which reads CD, CD-R, DVD, DVD-R and DVD-DL. So I was covered, or so I thought I was. The disk arrived, the Mac's BIOS had a password on it with it being an ex-educational Mac, I got that removed pretty quickly through just opening it up and resetting the BIOS by taking out the battery and holding in this little button on the motherboard. But still, the Mac would not boot from this DVD, it just ejected and booted into 10.3 (Panther) which frustrated me a lot, and it seemed that everything I tried just failed.

Currently, my eMac is not being used at all since I don't have an Airport card or a spare kettle cable (Although I could probably find one in the garage) and I'm bridging to my Xbox 360 (Although I still need to create a bridge for that since I formatted to Ubuntu)

And now at the end of this post, I really forgot why I was writing this but feel free to comment if you are by chance reading all of this.

Shots of the BlackBerry Niagra in the flesh emerge

    *drool*

I am so glad I havn't had a job for a while for one reason.
    Patience.

If I had a job, I'd probably have the Curve 8900 now and be thinking "Damn, if I waited I could be getting a better keyboard and 3G, noooooooo!" but now I'm not going to have a job until after CTIA for definite, which means I can wait and see if the Niagara or Sidekick 09 come out over here. WHICH REMINDS ME! Damn T-Mobile to hell for not marketing the Sidekick as well as they should have in the UK.

But hey, I'm going off track. For those 0 people reading my blog here are the shots :)
